Digital and Display Ads
My internship at Do317 and current work at Audacy gave me a strong understanding of the digital ad landscape. Ads need to be bold, captivating, and above all, communicate clearly.

While my work at Do317 was to primarily support blog views, my work at Audacy supports sales and site visits. The needs and branding of both of these can vary greatly, requiring me to adapt to any brand's needs.

Here are some of my favorite and most effective advertisements.

Pella - Be Bold
Working with high quality images is a must. With Pella, I was able to utilize the full view of their windows in the small ad space, emphasizing their campaign slogan, "Be Bold." Leaving room for the offer, this ad set was playful but clean and a strong example of what a good photo can do for a design.

Hartman's Distilling - Seltzers
Sometimes brands don't offer much branding information. Thankfully, the character in the Hartman's logo lended itself for a fun, simple design to break up the very plain image of the seltzers.

The running line draws the eyes but allows the pops of color to bring attention to the slogan, "An Instant Hometown Hit."

Dunn Tire - Don't Settle for Less
While there usually is too much information and detail provided for a display ad from a client, sometimes you're provided just enough. This lends itself to making fun designs that have to be adaptable to multiple sizes. when the option is available, I like to find fun ways to fill the gaps. These bran elements were incorporate in a new way for the company and made for fun, striking tire treads that fit this ad's theme well.

Seneca Gaming - Mad Money March
With complicate logos, no image, and lots of text, there isn't always room to explore within small display ads. With fun wordplay, you can mix up the design and keep things feeling fresh. This gold embellishment was a fun technique to learn, and even better to implement, as it made this ad pop against what could've been a text-heavy ad.

Support the Staff
To support the Do317 staff at the beginning of COVID-19 shutdowns, advertisements were needed to draw support from the community-focused platform.

These ads are flashy, catch the users attention, and use the branded colors and fonts of the original logo. The grid background gives an easily expandable pattern that can be adapted to the different sizes seen below.

Tattoo Specials
Friday the 13th was the date of the annual tattoo specials in Indianapolis where many shops held flash tattoo specials. Drawing inspiration from the movie itself, this Jason mask advertisement glares back and gives a grunge and scary look to the fun tattoo style of the shops offerings.

Local Groceries
In the spirit of supporting local businesses, Do317 created another content piece with multiple parts of town and their respective local grocers. This advertisement uses an eye-catching grocery cart icon with bright trendy colors to attract users to click on the article.
